New Research: Best In Class Companies Have Asset Management Technology
According the the Aberdeen Group Study on Enterprise Asset Management in 2012, it was found that Best-In-Class companies shared characteristics in a common category: Technology.
Defined as the selection of the appropriate tools and the effective deployment of those tools, 64% of these Best-In-Class companies currently use enterprise asset management technology, with 37% of average companies also utilizing the asset management software tool. (Page 13)
The report goes on to further explain that best-in-class organizations are more likely to invest in technology to automate the business process, knowledge management, and performance management capabilities. They are 65% more likely than Laggard organizations to invest in an Enterprise Asset Management solution, which provides a core functionality that play a critical role in automating data collection from assets and utilizing analytical capabilities to understand the true value of data collected.
Benefits of Asset Management Software
1) Easily manage critical information relating to your organization. EAM Solutions like the Calibration Modules found in both the CompliantPro and QSi system, help manufacturers manage critical information related to materials, employee data, materials, and work orders.
2) Integrated platform provides all asset data in one place. Having a single platform to display all this information in a timely fashion helps manufacturers take a more predictive approach to asset maintenance and understanding asset conditions (Page 16)
3) Prevent and reduce the impact of your
equipment failure. Improved visibility results from adopting analytics of your assets, alarm management to automate data collection, and automated escalation notices for adverse events to the appropriate decision makers. (Page 18)
4) You can lower your asset downtime by providing maintenance personnel with the asset analytics and spare parts optimization. With an automated spare parts inventory process, Best-In-Class organizations can more effectively manage their spare parts available durring asset breakdown, assure the right parts are available when breakdowns occur, and thus minimalize the amount of asset maintenance downtime. Adopting an Enterprise Asset Management software solution is the first step to true predictive maintenance of an organization's assets. The first and foremost role of this kind of technology is to facilitate the sharing of information throughout the enterprise, so this streamlining of operations results in better planning and scheduling of tasks. While some companies may sabotage themselves by adopting multiple silos, often low-cost solutions, you can take advantage of all data collected with a single EAM software solution.
