The term green is the current hot word for anything that may be or pretends to be environmentally friendly. But sustainability, which is defined as meeting today’s needs without sacrificing the resources of future generations, is a trend. We are not acting sustainable now, but momentum is in place to become sustainable.

According to attendees and staff alike, the 2011 IBS User Forum was a resounding success. This year’s IBS America User Forum took place last month, on September 27^th and 28^th in Boston, Massachusetts. At this year's User Forum which took place on September 28th, 2011, Keynote Speaker Harry Moser kicked off the event by outlining an understanding to the total cost for offshoring, as he argued that companies are able to avoid sacrificing quality, compliance, and green objectives in the pursuit of a lower labor cost. He also demonstrated through case studies and current research how compliance and quality are better the closer you are to where things are made, so those companies who source locally gain a quality assurance and quality control competitive advantage by being closer to their customer.
